Glazier Jobs that Build Careers in DFW
We Hire Problem-Solvers, Not Box-Checkers
If you’ve spent time in commercial glazing, you know the difference between a company that treats you like skilled labor and one that treats you like you’re easily replaceable. At Southwest Glass, we’re looking for people who show up to help general contractors complete successful projects. Not just check boxes and move on.
Whether you’re an experienced glazier or an assistant ready to learn the trade, we offer autonomy, variety, and a team that respects what you bring to the job. Our work spans the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, from months-long builds at FedEx headquarters and the American Airlines Center to quick-turn service work across multiple sites in a day. About 75% of what we do is interior glazing: new construction, renovation, and specialty work like decorative glass and sound studios.
Why Glazing Jobs Here Are Different
You Work with Autonomy
When plans change or installation challenges arise, you’re trusted to handle them without running every decision by the office. For other crew members, our superintendents provide materials and equipment when needed. They don’t hover.
The Day-to-Day
Most crews work in pairs. Some jobs keep you on site for months. Others move you between service calls across DFW. Every truck has a job tablet with our internal software. Lead glaziers get a cell phone stipend. When you need backup, you have a direct line to your superintendent.
Space to Do Your Job
Relaxed environment. No micromanaging. The team helps each other when needed. You’re able to balance work with the rest of your life instead of making construction your entire identity.
What We’re Looking For
Requirements
- Valid government-issued identification (i.e., driver’s license, passport, SS card, etc.)
- Background check and drug testing
We’re a non-union shop with a company-run apprenticeship program. Assistants work under lead glaziers and learn through hands-on experience.
Experienced glaziers have space to work the way they know how.
The Right Fit
We hire problem-solvers who adapt when the scope changes. You’ll communicate professionally with GCs, tenants, and crews.
As an assistant, you’ll watch, ask questions, and take ownership of learning.
Lead glaziers set the example and provide solutions. Direct day-to-day installations and ensure GC satisfaction.
Most importantly, care about doing quality work.
How You Grow
New glaziers work with lead glaziers, learning the trade hands-on. Pay increases as your skills improve, using a performance-based sliding scale. The path forward exists for those who put in the effort.
We cover OSHA and aerial lift certification on company time. CPR training is also available if you’re interested. These certifications follow you throughout your career.
Projects You’ll Work On
Our glazier work spans the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. You will work on interior finish-out and exterior openings, including new construction and renovation.
Recent projects include the FedEx headquarters, Nokia, American Airlines Center interiors, PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Raytheon, and RMR HCA office buildings.
